MARAWI CITY, May 22 (PIA) —The Bangsamoro government and the World Food Programme (WFP) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOA) to strengthen cooperation on projects focused on food security and disaster prevention. The Bangsamoro government considers WFP to be its main partner in implementing programmes to improve household living conditions in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region, including food security. The cooperation also includes the use of port and storage services and the open space of The Polloc Freeport in Parang, Maguindanao, for the installation of mobile storage facilities for the reception, storage and provision of humanitarian goods and equipment. Esmael Pasigan, Executive Secretary of the Bangsamoro Government, and Stephen Guiling, Representative and National Director of the World Food Programme, signed the MOA on 22 May in Cotabato City. Following the signing, Guiling met with Prime Minister Al-Hajj Murad Ebrahim to discuss WFP programs across the region. (Bangsamoro Regierung/PIA10).
